"I looked and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest." (6:2). This sounds like a conqueror out to win the hearts, minds and souls of potential converts. Religious zeal perhaps unparalleled in human history up until this time. In Zechariah 6:6 the white horses went west. Does this mean this conqueror is going to focus primarily on the Western Hemisphere?
Malachi 4:5 says, "See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes." Elijah's central theme seemed to be, "...You have abandoned the Lord's commands..." (1 Kings 18:18). "...he (John the Baptist) is the Elijah who was to come." (Matthew 11:14; also see 17:12). "And he will go before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous - to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." (Luke 1:17). It is quite possible the White Horse is the Spirit of Elijah calling people to the "wisdom of righteousness" according to the "Lord's Command" similar to nearly 2000 years ago.
If you entered "white horse" or "first seal of the apocalypse" in an internet directory and this is the first page you came to, there is a good chance we are close to this event taking place. Or it may have already happened, in which case you will know the identity of the conqueror and details about what he has done.
Addendum November 2004: The early post presidential election debate in the USA seems to be centered around "values." Individual freedom versus group responsibility. Are these the seeds of an intense religious debate, unlike any seen in history up to the present time? Will one side try to conquer (overpower or defeat) the other? Keep the "Body of Christ" in mind!
